About the Conference |
The Southeastern Small Business Lenders Conference is the newly renamed "Capital
Challenge", presented by the Georgia Lenders Quality Circle. In years past, the
conference has been held for GA members, but is now open to the entire Southeast.
The annual conference, held each January, is a networking and training event held
over a 4-day period. It includes keynote speakers on SBA relevant topics, forecast
of the economy, breakout training sessions with topics for beginner and advanced
SBA lenders and their staff, as well as several networking opportunities.
One of the primary objectives of the conference is to provide attendees with a financial
forecast of the year ahead. In light of the economy, this outlook should prove to
be especially beneficial this year.
Some of our past speakers and presenters have included Nuby Fowler (SBA Region IV
Administrator), Chris Crawford (President, NADCO), Daniel Morgan (Synovus), Linda
Rusche (Office of Credit Risk Management), Tony Wilkinson (NAGGL), and many more
talented professionals.
Who Attends
Each year, the conference has grown not only by number of attendees, but by number
of sponsors and quality of educational opportunities. We are proud to boast last
year’s attendance exceeding 200, and are expecting similar numbers this year, if
not more, now that the conference has expanded to the Southeast. Last year, over
100 different companies and government agencies attended, with representation from
over 35 banks!
