The GLQC Board of Directors puts on five primary events throughout the year to bring together the members of GLQC to fulfill the mission of the organization.  These events occur about once a calendar quarter and are a great opportunity to learn about the ever-changing SBA loan programs and network with industry professionals.  The five events are:

  1. The Southeastern Small Business Lenders Conference
  2. Georgia's Small Business Awards Luncheon
  3. GLQC Sponsored Training for lenders and SBA industry professionals
  4. Summer Networking Event
  5. SBA New Year's Celebration Event

Southeastern Small Business Lenders Conference

Each year, the GLQC Board of Directors hosts a 3-4 day conference in the Southeastern US focused on the current topics and issues faced by professionals in the SBA Lending Industry.  Past event locations have included Hilton Head, SC, Augusta, GA and Lake Oconee, GA. March 13-15, 2019

The 2019 SESBLC 'Carnival Extravaganza' will be held in Ashville, NC at The Omni Grove Park Inn.  This will be a great opportunity to learn about the new SOP, network and meet with SBA professionals, lenders, affiliates from across the Southeastern US. Registration is NOW OPEN.

 

 

Georgia's Small Business Week Awards Luncheon

 

The 2018 Small Business Week Awards Luncheon (SBWAL) sponsored by Georgia Small Business Capital was held on May 2nd, 2018 at 11:30 am at Villa Christina (4000 Summit Blvd NE, Atlanta, GA 30319).

 

2018 National Small Business Week April 29- May 5th, 2018

Every year since 1963, the President of the United States has issued a proclamation announcing National Small Business Week, which recognizes the critical contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners. More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business, and they create about two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year.

 

GLQC supports the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Georgia District Office as they present the annual awards for Georgia’s Small Business/Champion of the Year awards.  The award categories are: 

  • Entrepreneurial Success Award
  • Family-Owned Business of the Year
  • Financial Services Champion of the Year
  • Home-Based Business Champion of the Year
  • Minority Small Business Champion of the Year
  • Small Business Media Advocate of the Year
  • Veteran Small Business Champion of the Year
  • Women in Business Champion of the Year
  • Young Entrepreneur of the Year

Summer Networking Event

The GLQC hosts a annual summer networking event for its members to come together in a fun atmosphere and get to know each other better and deepen relationships as colleagues in our industry.

2018 GLQC Summer Networking Event

The event was Tuesday, August 7th at The Painted Duck located at 976 Brady Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30318 from 5:00 PM - 7:30PM.

 

The Painted Duck is a distinguished drinkery, duckpin bowling, and gaming parlour. The event was $50 for all GLQC Members; $90 for all non-member guests.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The 2017 Summer Networking Event took place on August 15th at Skyline Park. This ATL bucket-list location was packed with opportunities to network and meet others in our industry for a causal night of fun. 

 

 

SBA New Years Celebration Event

October of each year represents a new fiscal year for the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).  GLQC hosts a New Years Celebration Event for all of our Georgia SBA community to come together, celebrate supporting small businesses in the past year and kick-off another year of helping small businesses get access to capital!  

 

The 2018 New Years Event will be hosted on Wednesday, October 24th at:

 

Fado's Buckhead Rooftop located at: 273 Buckhead Ave., Atlanta, GA, 30305.  The event is $50 for all GLQC Members; $90 for all non-member guests.

Training and Professional Development

GLQC is always looking for ways to provide on-going training and professional development for our members to promote the uses of best practices and compliance with current regulations.  We partner with the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (NAGGL) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Georgia District Office to provide various training throughout the state of Georgia.  For the most current list of training offered, please look at our calendar and upcoming events listings.

 

In 2017, GLQC members received discounts to attended two, two-day training sessions with NAGGL instructors. The two training this year were:

     May 17-18 - Understanding the SOP 50 10 

     Nov 16-17 - Advanced SOP 50 10 Training
